General Manager – Pub (Dragonfly Basingstoke)

About the role

Marston's is seeking an experienced General Manager to run the recently invested Dragonfly pub in Basingstoke. You will be responsible for leading the team, driving commercial performance and delivering a vibrant community hub.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the pub, ensuring high standards of service and hygiene.
• Develop and execute a compelling food and beverage offering to improve the current 30/70 wet‑to‑food sales split.
• Increase guest frequency through local marketing, events, sports viewing and targeted promotions.
• Manage staff recruitment, training, performance and scheduling.
• Control costs, monitor financial performance and achieve revenue targets.
• Maintain the pub’s entertainment and sports proposition to attract families, residents and sports enthusiasts.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a successful pub or hospitality operator.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to drive profitability.
• Energetic, community‑focused mindset with experience in event‑driven marketing.
• Leadership skills to motivate and develop a diverse team.
