General Manager – Pub & Hotel

About the role

Marston's is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the Spring River Pub, Carvery and 104‑room hotel in Ebbsfleet. You will be responsible for driving commercial performance while maintaining the high guest‑experience standards the brand is known for.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the pub, carvery and hotel, ensuring smooth service delivery.
• Manage a large team, including front‑of‑house, kitchen, and housekeeping staff.
• Control costs, optimise inventory and drive revenue across food, drink and accommodation streams.
• Develop and implement promotional initiatives, especially for the Sunday food offer and new gym partnership.
• Maintain health, safety and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Proven track record managing large‑scale pub and hotel operations.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience handling high‑volume sales.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and guest‑service focus.

Required skills

• Experience with POS and hospitality management systems.
• Financial reporting and budgeting competence.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations in the hospitality sector.
