General Manager – Pub (The Morgan)

About the role

Marston's is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead The Morgan, a recently invested community pub in Belvedere. You will be responsible for driving footfall, overseeing food and drink operations, and maximising the potential of the outdoor garden and event space.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the pub, ensuring high standards of food, drink and service.
• Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and attract new customers.
• Oversee staff recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management.
• Maintain financial controls, budgeting and weekly sales reporting (target ~£25,000 weekly).
• Utilise the on‑site accommodation and manage live‑in/live‑out arrangements.
• Coordinate events, seasonal promotions and sport‑driven occasions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a high‑volume pub, restaurant or similar hospitality venue.
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on both food‑led and drink‑led trading.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent customer‑focused mindset and community engagement skills.
