General Operative and Material Coordinator - Temporary

About the role

Lotus UK Manufacturing is recruiting General Operatives and Material Coordinators to support manufacturing and production activities in a fast-paced, high-quality environment. The roles are temporary, week-by-week, starting immediately, and cover assembly, paint, logistics and material handling. Positions are based in Hethel, Norfolk.

Key responsibilities

• General Operatives: assemble, fit or prepare component parts and panels with hand or power tools; inspect, prepare or rework components; meet quality and quantity targets; assist supervisors and cover absences; report shortages, defects or process issues; maintain tools, equipment and PPE.
• Material Coordinators: handle, move and distribute materials and components; book in/out stock, check stock and track materials; work with logistics and production teams; operate manual handling equipment (training provided); report shortages, discrepancies or damaged materials; keep the workplace clean and safe.

Required profile

• Ability to follow written instructions and documented processes.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, ability to work under time pressure, and good communication and teamwork.
• Reliable, self-disciplined, flexible to shift patterns and able to lift and stand for long periods.
• English understood and spoken.
• Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.
• Desirable: previous manufacturing or assembly experience, knowledge of automotive or production processes, C&G/NVQ or similar qualification, and understanding of Business Improvement Techniques (Level 2).

What we offer

• Pay from £12.71 per hour, with overtime at enhanced rates.
• Weekly payment via the agency.
• Temporary, week-by-week contract, expected to last up to 3 months depending on absence cover.
