General Operative – Swindon

About the role

We are looking for a motivated General Operative to join a dynamic operational team at a client facility in Swindon. The role involves supporting daily activities, maintaining a safe and organised workplace, and contributing to production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform essential operational tasks to ensure smooth daily functioning.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with company protocols.
• Operate machinery or equipment as required to meet production or service targets.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve operational objectives.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and quality control standards.
• Assist with inventory management and preparation of materials for distribution.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a general operative or similar manual‑labour role (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude.
• Physical capability to meet the demands of the position.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow technical instructions accurately.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly rate of £13.86 plus a 22 % shift allowance (total £16.90 per hour).
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
• Early and late shift patterns (7:00‑15:00, 15:00‑22:45) on a rotational basis.
