General Practice Director – Senior Management Role

About the role

We are seeking a General Practice Director to lead our accounts team and drive the strategic growth of the practice. Reporting to a senior partner, you will combine technical accounting expertise with commercial insight to manage a diverse client portfolio and shape the firm’s long‑term direction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day guidance to the accounts team, ensuring high‑quality delivery across all work.
• Oversee office operations, recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews and staff development.
• Maintain compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements.
• Support operational planning and contribute to long‑term strategic decisions.
• Coach and mentor team members, delegate workload and monitor productivity.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, review and sign off year‑end accounts, management accounts and tax submissions.
• Conduct regular client meetings and promote collaboration across departments.

Required profile

• Senior manager with proven experience in accounting or finance leadership.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence business development.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.
