General Science Teacher (Secondary School)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified General Science Teacher to join a large secondary school in Havering, starting 1 September 2026. The position is full‑time and temporary, with the expectation of continuing until the end of the academic year. You will become an integral part of a supportive Science department that values collaboration and professional development.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver Combined Science lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with occasional Key Stage 5 teaching.
- Plan, prepare and adapt engaging lessons that meet the curriculum requirements.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback and maintain accurate records.
- Contribute to departmental meetings, share best practices and support colleagues.
- Ensure health and safety standards are upheld in the science laboratory.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Science specialism.
- Proactive, engaging teaching approach with a clear understanding of high‑quality teaching standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to relate to students, staff and parents.
- Strong administrative abilities and the capacity to meet deadlines.
