Generic Adults Social Worker

About the role

Our client, Oldham Council, is seeking a Generic Adults Social Worker to deliver high‑quality assessments, case management and safeguarding support for adult service users. This is a full‑time, temporary role based in Oldham.

Key responsibilities

• Complete Care Act assessments and reviews for adult clients.
• Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments (MCAs) and best‑interest decision‑making.
• Develop, review and monitor risk assessments and risk‑management plans.
• Manage complex casework, coordinating with multi‑agency professionals.
• Investigate and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with statutory duties.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records and reports.
• Collaborate with service users, carers, colleagues and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Required profile

• Fully registered with Remedy for locum positions.
• Successful completion of an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
• Ability to work collaboratively across agencies and adhere to local safeguarding procedures.
