Geography Teacher – Full-Time Supply (Sept 2026 – Apr 2027)

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is hiring on behalf of a well‑regarded secondary school in Durham. The school seeks an enthusiastic Geography Teacher for a full‑time, long‑term supply position running from September 2026 until April 2027. You will deliver engaging Geography lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity and critical thinking about the physical and human world.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Geography lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Assess, monitor and support student progress.
• Create an inclusive, positive learning environment.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
• Contribute to the wider school community and promote fieldwork skills.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Geography in a UK secondary school.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Excellent subject knowledge and passion for Geography.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
