Geotechnical Design Engineer – Reading

About the role

We are seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a well‑established multidisciplinary consultancy in Reading. You will be responsible for delivering geotechnical solutions for a variety of infrastructure, building and construction projects across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Produce geotechnical designs for foundations, earthworks, retaining structures and temporary works.
• Carry out site assessments and interpret ground investigation data.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and design documentation.
• Collaborate with civil, structural and other engineering teams to develop cost‑effective solutions.
• Liaise with clients and contribute to project delivery from concept through to completion.

Required profile

• Previous experience in geotechnical design.
• Relevant engineering degree (civil, geotechnical or engineering geology).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Residence in or reasonable commute to Reading.
