Geotechnical Engineer – Watford

About the role

We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our established team in Watford. You will work on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, infrastructure and industrial projects, delivering geotechnical solutions from site investigation through to detailed design.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and interpret ground investigations.
• Produce factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
• Undertake geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining walls and earthworks.
• Carry out slope stability and settlement assessments.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Support project delivery from feasibility to construction.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals and fee estimates.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
• Experience in a geotechnical consultancy, contractor or ground‑investigation environment.
• Strong understanding of site investigations and geotechnical reporting.
• Knowledge of foundation design, retaining structures and earthworks.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry‑standard geotechnical software.
