German and French speaking Export Sales Manager

About the role

This position is based in Banbury with hybrid working and involves driving export sales for a well‑established British manufacturer of industrial equipment. The role requires frequent international travel (up to 40% of the time) and focuses on expanding both distributor networks and direct sales channels across German‑ and French‑speaking markets.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with existing distributors, providing training and support to maximise performance.
• Identify, qualify and negotiate with new distributors to broaden market coverage.
• Generate and manage direct sales opportunities in territories not served by distributors.
• Oversee projects from initial enquiry through to final delivery, ensuring smooth hand‑over between internal teams.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate new markets and achieve growth targets.
• Monitor market trends, analyse performance data and produce accurate sales forecasts.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless business operations.

Required profile

• Fluent in written and spoken German and French.
• Proven experience in export or B2B sales, preferably within industrial or manufacturing sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles and negotiate complex deals.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, confident and dynamic with a “can‑do” attitude.
