GL Accountant

About the role

You will join the Financial Control team at Eucalyptus, a fast‑growing health‑tech company, to own core general ledger activities and support management reporting, budgeting and business partnering across EMEA entities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, prepare and post journals (accruals, pre‑payments, inter‑company, inventory adjustments, re‑classifications) with full audit trail.
• Lead month‑end close for designated EMEA entities, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising accuracy.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, resolve variances promptly, and maintain reconciliations across NetSuite, internal and group reporting packages.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, P&L by department and provide clear commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Support variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting and rolling cash‑flow analysis for the UK market.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS, handle VAT returns, and support external audit processes.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records and depreciation schedules where required.
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline financial processes.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA) with a strong interest in developing a finance career quickly.
• Ability to work in a lean, high‑trust environment where output is visible.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to translate financial data for non‑finance stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with NetSuite ERP.
