Global Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator

About the role

Based in Chorley, this office‑based position coordinates international purchasing, production planning and freight logistics for a fast‑growing company. You will work closely with factory partners in the UK and Asia to keep production on schedule, manage purchase orders and ensure cost‑effective freight delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily communication with factory partners across the UK and Asia, monitoring work‑in‑progress against production plans.
• Track factory capacity, loading and available slots to support seasonal purchasing decisions.
• Measure and report On‑Time Ex‑Factory (OTEF) performance, driving continuous improvement.
• Coordinate purchase orders from placement through shipment, keeping all milestones on track.
• Produce accurate production trackers, shipment schedules and supplier performance reports.
• Liaise with internal Product and Sales teams to provide regular updates on production status.
• Plan and manage international freight movements (sea, air, road), negotiating rates and monitoring carrier performance.
• Ensure shipping documentation complies with international trade and customs requirements.
• Coordinate inbound deliveries to warehouses, guaranteeing timely receipt and accurate inventory.

Required profile

• Proven experience in purchasing, production coordination or freight logistics, preferably with international exposure.
• Strong communication skills for building relationships with factory partners and internal stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to monitor KPIs, identify risks and propose improvements.
• Detail‑oriented approach to managing documentation, schedules and performance data.
