Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Platform Provisioning Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Platform Provisioning Engineer to join a major cloud transformation programme. You will work within a multi‑cloud team delivering scalable infrastructure across GCP, AWS, Azure and on‑premise environments, focusing on automation, Kubernetes and AI‑assisted DevOps.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain provisioning solutions primarily on GCP, with cross‑cloud capability for AWS and Azure.
• Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Develop and operate Kubernetes and containerised platforms for cloud‑native applications.
• Automate provisioning and operational processes with Python and Terraform.
• Create and enhance CI/CD pipelines for cloud services.
• Leverage AI‑assisted coding tools such as GitHub Co‑Pilot and Claude Code to improve code quality.
• Provide troubleshooting and support using Bash and other command‑line tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture and platform teams to ensure security, compliance and best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven ability to design and manage platform provisioning solutions in a multi‑cloud environment.
• Experience delivering infrastructure automation using Terraform and Python.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerisation and IaC concepts.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting (4 days office, 1 day remote) and deliver within a 6‑month contract.

What we offer

• Day rate £400‑£450 (inside IR35) via Umbrella Company
• Hybrid working – 4 days in Glasgow office, 1 day remote
• Initial 6‑month contract with potential extension
