Governance Manager – 3‑Month Temporary Contract

About the role

Our client in Buckinghamshire is seeking a Governance Manager on a three‑month temporary contract, with the possibility of permanent placement. You will work closely with senior colleagues to support governance, compliance and risk management across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the governance and compliance function and promote a high‑performance, customer‑focused culture.
• Oversee internal audit activity, governance frameworks, statutory and regulatory registers, and policy review arrangements.
• Provide expert advice on emerging compliance and regulatory matters.
• Act as Assistant Company Secretary, supporting Board and Committee activities.
• Champion effective risk management and value‑for‑money initiatives.

Required profile

• Recent experience in social housing governance or a similar sector.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build collaborative partnerships.
• A relevant degree, professional governance or company secretarial qualification, or substantial experience in a comparable role.
