Graduate Accountant – Private Client Tax

About the role

Join a leading accountancy firm as a Graduate Accountant focused on Private Client Tax. You will start your career developing a solid foundation in personal taxation while working alongside experienced professionals across Newbury and Reading.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare personal tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
• Develop an understanding of UK income tax and capital gains tax systems.
• Use specialist tax software to calculate liabilities and file returns.
• Liaise directly with HMRC on behalf of clients.
• Review client tax positions and identify opportunities for tax efficiency, such as pension contributions and Gift Aid.
• Support senior team members on advisory projects that assess tax implications of life and business decisions.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final‑year university student with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a client‑focused attitude.
• Motivation to achieve ACA or ATT‑CTA qualifications through the graduate programme.

Required skills
