Graduate Apprentice Developer (AI & Data Science)

About the role

This 48‑month Graduate Apprenticeship offers two entry‑level positions as Developer apprentices focused on AI and Data Science within NHS Ayrshire and Arran. You will receive a fully funded university degree, a salary, and comprehensive training across data, software development and NHS information standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage datasets, applying advanced statistical analysis techniques.
• Develop and maintain modern software solutions, including geographical information packages.
• Apply NHS data standards and information‑management best practices.
• Design robust, user‑friendly digital products for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum SQA Highers (including Maths or Computing) and Nat 5 English (C) or equivalent foundation apprenticeship.
• Recognition of Prior Learning accepted for candidates with relevant work experience or HNC/HND.
• Genuine curiosity about AI, data, and how systems work.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to non‑technical colleagues.
• Motivated, can‑do attitude.
