Graduate Assistant Contracts Manager – Highways & Civils

About the role

This graduate position offers hands‑on experience in contracts management on highways, civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the South East. You will be supported by experienced mentors and receive full training to develop the commercial and technical skills needed for a future Contracts Manager role.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day management of multiple highway and infrastructure projects.
• Support site teams by maintaining project documentation and contract administration.
• Help ensure health, safety and environmental compliance on site.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate smooth project delivery.
• Participate in site inspections, reporting and HSEQ compliance activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Placement year or prior construction experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and build a long‑term career in construction management.
