Graduate Child Counsellor – Learning Support Assistant

About the role
This graduate position supports children with social, emotional and mental health needs in a secondary school setting. You will work alongside the class teacher to provide tailored learning experiences and pastoral care for vulnerable pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with moderate learning difficulties.
- Build robust, trusting relationships with pupils to promote safety, empowerment and resilience.
- Identify and escalate risks and safeguarding concerns as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, CPD activities and maintain accurate records.
Required profile
- Recent graduate in Psychology or Criminology.
- Passionate about restorative approaches and supporting vulnerable children.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Willingness to work on‑site five days a week in Camberley.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
