Graduate Geotechnical Engineer – Chester

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Chester‑based consultancy. You will work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of civil and environmental projects, gaining hands‑on experience from field investigations to technical reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with site investigations, including drilling, sampling and in‑situ testing.
• Log and analyse soil and rock samples.
• Prepare technical reports and factual data for geotechnical assessments.
• Support the development of foundation design recommendations.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams during site visits.

Required profile

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Geoscience, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
• Strong written communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to travel within the region and work both on‑site and in the office.
• Residence within a commutable distance to Chester.
