Graduate Mechanical & Electrical Engineer – 2‑Year Training Programme

About the role

We are partnering with a leading engineering consultancy to offer a 2‑year Graduate Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineering programme in Swindon. The role is designed for recent graduates who are passionate about sustainability, building services and delivering innovative engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design of mechanical and electrical building services, including HVAC, lighting and power distribution.
• Perform technical reviews and contribute to project deliverables on live construction projects.
• Conduct thermal modelling and energy‑use assessments to support net‑zero carbon targets.
• Carry out on‑site inspections to verify installations against design specifications.
• Support clients with BREEAM and other sustainability assessments.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (≤2 years) in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Strong interest in sustainability and low‑carbon building design.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to pursue professional accreditation with bodies such as CIBSE, IMechE or IET.

Required skills

• Mechanical and electrical system design.
• Building physics and thermal modelling.
• Knowledge of BREEAM sustainability framework.
• Experience with net‑zero carbon design principles.
