Graduate Mechanical Engineer – CNC Trainee

About the role

This is an entry‑level position for a recent graduate or junior engineer who wants to build a career in CNC machining and precision engineering. You will receive structured training and hands‑on support to develop the skills needed to produce high‑quality components to tight tolerances.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and operating CNC machines under supervision.
• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Support the manufacture of precision components.
• Carry out basic inspections using verniers, micrometers and gauges.
• Help senior engineers with machining and workshop tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and follow health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of engineering or manufacturing gained through a college course, apprenticeship or workshop experience.
• Strong interest in CNC machining, mechanical or precision engineering.
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Full clean driving licence.

• Salary £24,000‑£29,000 DOE
• Monday‑Thursday 7:45 am‑5:00 pm, Friday 7:45 am‑12:45 pm
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays and Christmas shutdown
