Graduate Structural Engineer – Bristol

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Structural Engineer to join our growing building structures team in Bristol. You will work alongside senior engineers and technicians on a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects, gaining hands‑on experience in design and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with structural design and analysis for building projects across multiple sectors.
• Prepare calculations, sketches, specifications and design information under senior guidance.
• Collaborate with technicians to translate design intent into coordinated drawings and models.
• Attend project meetings, site visits and design reviews, contributing to technical discussions.
• Develop practical engineering judgement to deliver efficient, buildable structural solutions.

Required profile

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Previous UK consultancy experience in building structures, preferably across several sectors.
• Understanding of steel, concrete, masonry and timber design.
• Experience preparing calculations and design information for building projects.
• Familiarity with relevant design codes, standards and engineering principles.
• Proactive learning attitude, problem‑solving skills and ownership of tasks.
• Good communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients and project teams.
• Interest in progressing towards chartership, with support from senior engineers.
