Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary/Secondary Schools

About the role
We are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils in primary and secondary schools across Leeds and Bradford. This temporary position runs from September 2026 to July 2027 and offers valuable experience before teacher training.
Key responsibilities
- Support individual pupils and small groups under the guidance of a qualified teacher, adapting learning activities to meet diverse needs.
- Assess, record and report on pupil progress as agreed with teaching staff.
- Monitor pupil responses, identify concerns and escalate them appropriately.
- Assist in planning, delivering and evaluating targeted learning interventions.
- Select and adapt resources to facilitate effective learning experiences.
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment supporting pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development.
Required profile
- Graduate with a 1st or 2:1 degree, preferably in a core subject or Psychology.
- Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
- Proactive practitioner who sets and maintains high standards.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and wider staff teams.
