Graduate Teaching Assistant – Support Students (Key Stage 3‑4)

About the role

Join an outstanding North London school as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting Key Stage 3 and 4 learners (ages 11‑16). You will work alongside experienced teachers to raise attainment, confidence and participation for students with diverse needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils across a range of abilities.
• Assist in lesson delivery, reinforcing learning objectives and classroom management.
• Monitor and record student progress, contributing to individualized learning plans.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, student leaders and support specialists to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in school‑wide initiatives such as student leadership programmes and enrichment activities.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or aspiring teacher with a passion for working with young people.
• Experience mentoring or tutoring students at university or in previous roles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to the school’s ethos of student responsibility and leadership.
