Graduate Transport Planner – Consultancy (Gateshead)

About the role

This graduate position offers a hands‑on introduction to transport planning within a well‑established consultancy that serves the civil engineering sector. You will work alongside senior planners, gaining exposure to highway design, drainage solutions and environmental planning.

Key responsibilities

• Shadow senior team members on daily planning activities.
• Assist with site visits and data collection as required.
• Support the design team in developing transport and drainage layouts.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to documentation.
• Undertake any training needed to reach competency standards.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in geography, civil engineering, transport planning, environmental science, urban planning or mathematics.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Enthusiastic team player eager to learn and develop technical expertise.
