Grants Assessor – Charity Sector

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position supports a busy grants team within a respected charitable foundation. You will work closely with donors, trustees and community organisations to ensure efficient and effective grant making.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and process grant applications, checking eligibility against policies.
• Prepare donor schedules, grant offers and rejection letters.
• Provide professional service to voluntary and community applicants, grant partners, donors and fundholders.
• Support the Grants Manager and collaborate with the Grants team to develop administrative procedures.
• Maintain contractual obligations, timetables, reporting and financial procedures.
• Ensure data integrity in Salesforce, the organisation’s CRM system.
• Review End‑of‑Grant reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Assist the Communications Team in promoting grant activities and identifying success stories.
• Represent the organisation at events, occasionally outside regular office hours.

Required profile

• Highly organised, self‑motivated professional with strong attention to detail.
• Good numeracy skills and ability to work accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Analytical mindset, confident in asking detailed questions.
• Knowledge of the community/voluntary sector and grant management is desirable.

Required skills

• Office 365 proficiency.
• Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
