Grounds Maintenance Operative – 40 hrs/week

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Estate Services team in South London. Working 40 hours per week, you will help keep our residential estates clean, safe and attractive for residents and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Collect litter and fallen leaves across estate grounds.
• Operate petrol‑ and electric‑powered tools for mowing, strimming and hedge trimming.
• Perform general gardening tasks such as digging, planting, weeding and pruning.
• Transport and tow maintenance equipment using a company van and trailer.
• Use a PDA‑enabled smartphone to record work activities and follow schedules.
• Interact courteously with residents, providing assistance and information as required.

Required profile

• Full, valid manual UK driving licence.
• Ability to travel across the South East region as needed.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
• Clear Basic Criminal Record Check.
• Flexibility to work a 40‑hour week, with possible shift variations.

Required skills

• Operation of petrol and electric landscaping tools.
• Use of mowing, strimming and hedge‑trimming equipment.
• Competence with PDA/Smartphone for job logging.
• Driving and towing a company van and trailer.
