Grounds Maintenance Operative

About the role

The position is a hands‑on grounds maintenance operative based at a yard in Hailsham. Working Monday to Thursday 7:00‑17:00 and Friday 7:00‑15:00, you will join a small team delivering high‑quality grass, hedge and general outdoor upkeep for clients across the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Cutting grass and performing routine grounds maintenance tasks.
• Hedge trimming and basic vegetation work.
• Supporting the team to meet scheduled maintenance programmes.
• Operating tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring work is completed to required standards and within agreed timelines.
• Following all health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Ability to commute daily to the yard location.
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance or outdoor work (essential).
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and good time‑keeping.
• Trailer towing experience (desirable).
