Group Finance Manager (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Group Finance Manager to cover a maternity period, reporting directly to the CEO. This hands‑on leadership role will oversee financial operations, support strategic decisions and drive improvements across the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and financial reports accurately and on time.
• Produce monthly cash‑flow forecasts.
• Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns.
• Monitor budgets, performance and key financial metrics.
• Provide financial insights to senior stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts.
• Maintain robust financial controls and governance processes.
• Drive finance system improvements and reporting enhancements.
• Manage two finance team members and oversee day‑to‑day finance operations.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong experience in financial reporting and management accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Previous people‑management experience preferred.
