Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a driven Group Financial Controller to join the finance function of a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed business. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will help shape the financial control environment across a highly acquisitive group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small finance team responsible for monthly financial and management accounting.
• Prepare and consolidate the Group’s monthly management accounts, cash‑flow forecasts and KPI reporting.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, documenting processes and working with senior business leaders.
• Support the Group FD on ad‑hoc change projects, acquisition onboarding and reporting to private‑equity owners.
• Liaise with tax advisors to ensure robust tax accounting and controls.
• Ensure consistency of policies and processes across the Group, including pre‑payments, fixed assets and balance‑sheet reconciliations.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
• Experience preparing accounts and financial statements for regulated businesses.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with a “go‑getter” mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Required skills

• Strong technical accounting knowledge, preferably audit‑trained.
• Experience with large finance organisations or audit firms.
• Systems and automation mindset to streamline processes.
