Group Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a growing group of companies, is looking for a Group Financial Controller to act as the Finance Director’s right‑hand. This newly created senior position will lead the finance team across four entities, drive process improvements and support the business with clear financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a finance team of four, improving reporting processes and workflows.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for each entity and produce consolidated group reports.
• Manage month‑end close activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Support the implementation and development of a new ERP system.
• Oversee group cash‑flow forecasting, treasury and working‑capital management.
• Control accounts payable, receivable and other transactional finance processes.
• Coordinate year‑end audit activities and liaise with external auditors.
• Develop, enforce and continuously refine internal financial controls and accounting policies.
• Communicate financial results and insights to non‑finance stakeholders.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualified with a strong technical finance background.
• Proven experience in a similar controller or senior finance role within a multi‑entity environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small finance team and influence senior business partners.
• Experience with ERP implementation projects.
