Group Financial Crime Risk and Controls Consultant

About the role

This position sits within M&G’s Global Financial Crime Compliance PRAGMA team (Policy, Reporting, Analytics, Governance, Methodologies and Awareness). It offers a unique opportunity to influence senior stakeholders across the organisation and shape the Group Enterprise‑Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) for financial crime.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Group EWRA framework and methodology.
• Review, challenge and aggregate Business Unit EWRA inputs into a coherent Group‑wide view.
• Cover all major financial crime domains – AML, sanctions, fraud, anti‑bribery & corruption, customer due diligence and third‑party risk.
• Enhance governance tools such as risk registers, jurisdiction risk assessments, watch‑list frameworks, screening controls and customer exit processes.
• Provide strategic insight to Executive and Board level decision‑making and drive continuous improvement of the firm’s risk culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial crime, risk, or compliance roles within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong analytical ability to assess, aggregate and translate risk data into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated capability to engage senior stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating across global teams.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of AML, sanctions, fraud, anti‑bribery & corruption, customer due diligence and third‑party risk.
• Expertise in risk assessment methodologies and governance frameworks.
• Experience with risk registers, watch‑list management and screening controls.
