Group Financial Reporting Manager

About the role

Equals Money is a fast‑growing, regulated payments business focused on simplifying money movement. As the Group Financial Reporting Manager you will be the technical accounting authority for the group, overseeing year‑end statutory accounts, audit timetables and tax compliance while safeguarding the Finance function’s risk and control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the preparation of year‑end statutory accounts for all group entities using NetSuite and ensure timely, accurate filing.
• Prepare and review consolidated group financial statements in compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP, including all required disclosures.
• Lead the annual statutory audit end‑to‑end, managing timetables, deliverables and acting as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Manage the group’s tax compliance calendar, coordinating with external advisors for Corporation Tax and VAT returns.
• Maintain the Finance function’s risk and control environment, including the financial risk register and implementation of mitigating controls.
• Champion best‑practice use of NetSuite across Finance, improving reporting, consolidation and control processes.

Required profile

• ACA qualified with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in practice and then corporate/fintech.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP with proven ability to apply standards to real‑world situations.
• Demonstrated experience preparing statutory accounts and managing group consolidations end‑to‑end.
• Track record of running audit timetables and coordinating cross‑functional inputs.
• Exposure to UK Corporation Tax and VAT compliance, working alongside external advisors.
• Experience with financial risk and control frameworks, including risk registers and internal audit coordination.
• Familiarity with ERP‑based general ledgers; NetSuite experience is a strong advantage.
