Groups & Events Executive

About the role

Join the Cluster Commercial Office at InterContinental Edinburgh The George and Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel as a Groups & Events Executive. You will act as the primary point of contact for corporate and leisure groups, ensuring seamless event planning and delivery while promoting the IHG brand.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through phone, email and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Generate new sales leads and actively seek client feedback to improve service.
• Create accurate bookings, written confirmations and function sheets using the in‑house reservation system.
• Coordinate with internal departments (F&B, spa, housekeeping) to ensure all event requirements are met.
• Provide post‑event follow‑up and reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience in groups, meetings or events sales, preferably within a hotel or destination venue.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a commercial team.
• Attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the hotel’s in‑house booking system.
