Hardware Engineer – High-Precision Timing Systems

About the role

Timebeat is looking for a hands-on Hardware Engineer to develop high-precision timing hardware from concept through production. You will own the complete design cycle – from schematic capture and PCB layout to prototype bring-up, testing and manufacturing support – ensuring the final product meets stringent timing and noise requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Capture schematics and create board-level layouts for new and existing timing modules using Altium Designer or similar tools.
• Design mixed-signal, digital and power circuitry with a focus on low noise, clean clock distribution and EMC compliance.
• Perform prototype bring-up, lab debugging and validation of timing performance.
• Select components, generate BOMs and collaborate with suppliers to optimise cost and reliability.
• Provide design-for-manufacture documentation and support the transition to volume production.
• Work closely with firmware, mechanical and product teams to integrate hardware into complete solutions.

Required profile

• Approximately 3+ years of experience in PCB or electronic hardware design.
• Strong proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with board bring-up, lab debugging and testing.
• Solid understanding of digital and mixed-signal design for commercial products.
• Good grasp of power design, grounding, decoupling and manufacturability.
