Hardware Engineering Technical Lead – Government & Defence

About the role

This is a senior opportunity for an ambitious hardware engineer to step up as Technical Lead for a team delivering industry‑leading, government‑approved data‑at‑rest encryption solutions to defence organisations worldwide. You will act as the technical authority for secure digital hardware design while enjoying a mix of hands‑on project work and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality governance across Electronics, Mechanical and FPGA disciplines.
• Define and continuously improve the unified hardware development lifecycle and CAD/simulation toolsets for new product introductions.
• Own and lead detailed electronic architectural design, verification and test strategies.
• Collaborate closely with systems engineering and project managers to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Allocate roughly 80% of time to project execution and 20% to mentorship and governance.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in hardware engineering and electronic design, preferably within government or defence.
• Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• UK sole national and able to obtain UK security clearance.
