Hardware In The Loop Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior engineer to join our Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HWIL) team in Stevenage. The role focuses on designing and testing real‑time simulation equipment that enables indoor missile testing, combining RF hardware, electronics and software development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RF equipment and targets for missile tracking and simulated ECM.
• Produce new capabilities for HWIL simulations, including root‑cause analysis, design, development and integration.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate RF, electronics and software components.
• Perform system performance analysis, interface debugging and system integration.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineer with a growth mindset and ambition.
• Experience in hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing or related defence systems.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Radio Frequency design or testing
• System performance analysis
• Interface debugging and system integration
• Software design requirements for real‑time applications
• Familiarity with Linux operating system
• C++ programming (advantage)
• Integration of microcontrollers in RF hardware (e.g., Raspberry Pi)
