Hardware-in-the-Loop Test Engineer (HiL)

About the role

We are seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) Test Engineer to lead the development and validation of safety‑critical embedded systems. The role involves designing test strategies, creating realistic simulation environments and ensuring product reliability throughout the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HiL simulation environments using platforms such as Speedgoat, dSPACE or National Instruments.
• Create and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures and automated test cases to verify product requirements.
• Integrate physical hardware with virtual models and simulation tools to build realistic testing scenarios.
• Design test scenarios that replicate real‑world operating conditions and potential failure modes.
• Support product verification and validation activities across all development stages.
• Analyse test results, investigate failures and collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
• Produce technical reports and documentation for design reviews, regulatory compliance and product sign‑off.
• Contribute to reliability engineering tasks, including risk assessments, FMEA and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain full traceability between requirements, test coverage and validation outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience with HiL simulation platforms (Speedgoat, dSPACE, NI or similar).
• Hands‑on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and/or LabVIEW.
• Strong Python scripting and test‑automation skills.
• Good understanding of embedded systems, control systems and system integration.
• Experience working in structured development and testing environments, preferably on safety‑critical or high‑reliability products.
• Familiarity with Git or comparable version‑control systems.
