Head Chef – Country Pub in Blackburn

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at The Clog & Billycock, a well‑established country pub just outside Blackburn. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality food, developing seasonal menus and ensuring the highest standards of presentation and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and manage a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Develop and update seasonal menus in collaboration with Executive Chefs.
• Maintain food quality, presentation and safety standards.
• Control inventory, ordering and cost management.
• Train, mentor and schedule kitchen staff.
• Work closely with the pub manager to drive business performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Head Chef, Chef Manager, Kitchen Manager or senior Sous Chef in a busy, premium food setting.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage a dynamic kitchen team.
• Passion for high‑quality, fresh food and creativity in menu design.
