About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a well‑known medium‑sized restaurant in Southampton. You will be responsible for maintaining high culinary standards while driving innovation and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, guaranteeing quality and presentation.
• Develop innovative menus in line with current trends and customer preferences.
• Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and control food costs.
• Train and mentor staff to enhance culinary skills and service delivery.
• Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff for seamless service during busy periods.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times.

Required profile

• Proven supervising experience in a professional kitchen.
• Extensive culinary background with strong food production skills.
• Excellent team‑management abilities and leadership qualities.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene best practices.
• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
