Head Chef

About the role

As Head Chef at HC-One, you will lead a dedicated kitchen team to create nutritious, delicious meals for residents in dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. Kindness and attention to individual dietary needs are at the core of the service you will provide.

Key responsibilities

• Inspire and manage the kitchen team to deliver high‑quality meals.
• Plan menus that meet health, cultural and nutritional requirements.
• Oversee stock control, ordering and budgeting to ensure efficient operation.
• Maintain strict compliance with food safety standards, including HACCP.
• Collaborate with central teams to uphold nutritional excellence.
• Create a pleasant dining environment that enhances residents’ quality of life.

Required profile

• S/NVQ Level 2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery.
• Minimum Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
• Strong leadership, organisational and planning abilities.
• Kind, considerate and committed to resident wellbeing.
