Head Housekeeper

About the role

The hotel in South East England is seeking an experienced Head Housekeeper to lead its housekeeping department. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, managing staff and resources, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily cleaning and inspection of guest rooms and public areas.
• Plan and manage staff rotas in line with business demand.
• Control purchasing, cost, and linen inventory (dirty and clean).
• Maintain standards of cleanliness, quality, and health & safety, including COSHH and emergency procedures.
• Train, motivate and develop the housekeeping team.
• Monitor and report maintenance issues and ensure equipment is in good repair.
• Assist hands‑on when required to turn rooms back for hire.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping management experience in a hotel or similar environment, or a supervisory role seeking a senior appointment.
• Eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom.
• Ability to work a full‑time schedule (5 days over 7, including weekends on a rota basis).
