Head Housekeeper - Live In

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Head Housekeeper to join the brand‑new Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere. This live‑in position will lead the housekeeping team, ensuring every guest experiences a spotless and welcoming environment from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the cleaning of guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Promptly report and follow up on any maintenance issues.
• Manage linen inventories, cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Train, coach and schedule new and existing housekeeping staff.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Provide regular updates to the General Manager on housekeeping performance.

Required profile

• Friendly, detail‑oriented and calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding guest service.
• Proven ability to lead a team by example.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
