Head of Application Management

About the role

We are seeking a self‑motivated Head of Application Management to join the Leadership Team of a growing charity in South West England. This senior position will shape the strategic direction and delivery of all business applications, ensuring they are reliable, secure and aligned with organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an application management strategy that supports current and future business needs.
• Define and maintain end‑to‑end processes for acquisition, development, maintenance and retirement of applications.
• Monitor performance, availability and reliability of all critical applications, guaranteeing business continuity.
• Oversee incident, problem and change management to minimise downtime.
• Act as the primary liaison for application‑related advice, priorities and improvements across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, data protection and security standards.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with application services.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading application management or enterprise systems teams.
• Strong analytical, collaborative and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to drive innovation and foster a customer‑focused culture.
• Excellent communication skills for building relationships at all levels.
