Head of Bid Management

About the role

As the Head of Bid Management you will lead SBFM’s bid function, shaping strategy and delivering compelling proposals that win high‑value contracts. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you will work closely with sales, marketing, finance and operations to turn opportunities into long‑term partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing bid team.
• Define and execute the company’s bidding and growth strategy.
• Make Bid/No‑Bid decisions to focus on the most promising opportunities.
• Manage the end‑to‑end tender process for complex, high‑value bids.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create winning solutions.
• Write, review and elevate bid content to produce client‑focused proposals.
• Ensure all submissions are compliant, professionally presented and delivered on time.
• Maintain bid templates, content libraries and knowledge bases.
• Monitor market trends, procurement developments and competitor activity.
• Drive continuous improvement in bid quality and win rates.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a bid function or managing complex, high‑value tenders.
• Track record of improving bid quality and increasing win rates.
• APMP Foundation qualification or equivalent.
• Outstanding written communication and persuasive proposal skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Excellent project management with the capacity to handle multiple bids under tight deadlines.
