Head of Business Development & Commercial Growth

About the role

We are seeking a commercially driven senior leader to build and steer commercial growth for a therapeutic education and animal‑assisted interventions provider operating across Surrey and Hampshire. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own existing projects and launch new revenue streams while leading a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Own commercial performance of existing training, events, awards programme and community membership.
• Identify, design and launch new revenue‑generating ventures.
• Generate income from sites and facilities outside core hours.
• Develop investment proposals tied to clear returns.
• Be accountable for delivering agreed commercial results.

Required profile

• Proven track record of turning an under‑performing business or unit into a profitable one.
• Experience building or launching a commercial venture from scratch.
• Strong commercial understanding of the training and/or events sectors.
• Comfort proposing and being measured against your own commercial targets.
• Ability to balance commercial ambition with a values‑led organisation.

Required skills

What we offer

• Base salary £60,000 – £68,000 per year.
• Performance bonus up to 15% linked to agreed targets.
