Head of Business Development – Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Business Development to lead Lotus Engineering’s global growth. Based at our state‑of‑the‑art facility in Hethel, you will turn our core engineering strengths into high‑value commercial opportunities and raise the brand’s market visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a business development strategy focused on vehicle dynamics, control systems, vehicle architectures and lightweight engineering.
• Identify priority markets and position Lotus Engineering as a premium partner for performance and efficiency.
• Translate technical capabilities into integrated client propositions and lead bid and proposal development.
• Secure new business with OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers and emerging automotive and technology companies, and nurture strategic accounts.
• Own revenue targets, build and manage a diversified opportunity pipeline and ensure disciplined forecasting.
• Develop external revenue streams in adjacent areas such as low‑volume vehicle manufacturing.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in business development within the automotive or high‑performance engineering sector.
• Strong track record of building senior‑level relationships and delivering sustainable revenue growth.
• Ability to work closely with technical teams to align market needs with engineering capabilities.
