Head of Business Development

About the role

The Head of Business Development will drive commercial growth for a public‑sector services organisation, creating a strong pipeline of opportunities and building senior stakeholder relationships. Acting as a key ambassador, you will shape and deliver strategies that align with long‑term organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deliver business development strategies that support growth.
• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities through market research, networking and stakeholder engagement.
• Build and maintain relationships across public and private sector organisations to generate sustainable revenue.
• Lead bids, proposals and commercial submissions, ensuring opportunities are commercially viable.
• Monitor market trends, procurement activity and competitor developments to inform strategic planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior business development or commercial leadership roles.
• Strong ability to build and nurture senior stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated success in leading bids and commercial proposals.
• Excellent understanding of public‑sector procurement and market dynamics.

Required skills

What we offer

• £70,000 per annum pro rata.
• Up to 30 days of annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays.
